Singers come from over100 different public, private, and home school environments across metro Atlanta.
Singers represent households in over 65 zip codes and 8 counties in the metropolitan Atlanta area!
AYS has toured 23 countries, as well as all the capitals of North America, where our Singers have represented Atlanta to the world and participated in incredible music learning experiences. AYS has participated in over 80 regional, national, and international tours.
AYS has performed in noted venues worldwide, including: St. Stephens in Vienna, Westminster Abbey in England, Church of the Black Madonna in Poland, St. Thomas Church and Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, the Washington National Cathedral, Notre Dame Cathedral in France, Montserrat Basilica in Spain, Sydney Opera House in Australia, Candelária Cathedral in Brazil, Noblessner Valukoda in Estonia, and Christ Church & Galway Cathedral in Ireland!
AYS has been selected to sing for local and national businesses and organizations, including among others: American Choral Directors Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Georgia Music Educators Association, Delta Airlines, BellSouth, ACE Hardware, Georgia Center for Nonprofits, The Coca-Cola Company, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
In 41 years, AYS has held over 6,080 rehearsals where children learn professionalism, dedication, and understanding of music theory and performance.
2,050 Alumni and growing. We have worked with so many amazing young people over the years and are proud of their contributions back to the organization – working on our staff, serving on our board, sending donations, returning to our concerts, or volunteering at workshops.
Per season, Singers perform roughly 80 songs in 22 languages.
AYS continues to promote the work of living composers, including over 37world premieres and the works of Georgia composers. Last Season, AYS performed the music of 22 living composers and 16 living arrangers.

In 1975, YOUNG SINGERS of Callanwolde began with 82 Singers age 10-14.
AYS began with 2 choirs in 1 location.
When AYS started, a child could participate for up to 5 years.
In the past, AYS has worked with noted guest conductors, including: Robert Shaw, Henry Leck, and Jere Flint.
Now, ATLANTA YOUNG SINGERS serves 200+ Singers age 7-18.
Now, Singers participate in one of 7 choirs that rehearse in 5 locations.
Now Singers can benefit from AYS programs for up to 11 years.
Recently, AYS sang under the baton of noted conductors Tony Guzman, Fred Onovwerosuoke, Charles Bruffy, Matt Oltman, Maria Guinand, Francisco Núñez, Jonathan Willcocks and Tõnu Kaljuste.
